Toronto Mayoral Candidate Rocco Rossi Wins Over the Crowd at the Greater Yorkville Residents' Association Debate

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Oct. 12, 2010) - The following corrects and replaces the release sent at 20:59 pm ET on Oct. 12, 2010. The last sentence in the second paragraph should have read "Rossi also derided Ford for his recent flip flop on his promise to eliminate the land transfer tax on "day one". The complete and corrected release follows.

Rocco Rossi challenged key rivals tonight at the Greater Yorkville Residents' Association debate anchored by his solid financial plan that has received praise across the board.

By contrast, Rossi pointed out the $100 million hole in George Smitherman's fiscal plan and called out rival Rob Ford on his "unclear" fiscal plan that "does not add up." Rossi also derided Ford for his recent flip flop on his promise to eliminate the land transfer tax on "day one".

When faced with the facts from Rossi, Ford vehemently denied it but Rossi said "you're re-writing history."

Neither Rob Ford nor George Smitherman are being honest with the taxpayers.

After the debate, Mr. Rossi told reporters that "Mr. Smitherman is a goose that's waiting to lay a one hundred million dollar golden egg and Ford is making crap up as we go."
