Company Producing 75 Barrels of Oil per day

Vast Exploration Inc. (TSX VENTURE:VST) announced today that it has successfully completed its three well pipeline project in the Barrhead area in central Alberta. Initial flow rates have been choked back to a combined 350 mcf/d from the three Belly River gas wells. There has been no rain in this particular area over the entire 10 days it has taken to complete the project, which allowed operations to proceed smoothly and within budgeted costs. The gas is currently being sold into the Alberta spot market.

Vast continues to execute on its plan to extract the underlying value from the recent acquisition it made of a private Alberta company. Production of 75 boe/d from the Barrhead gas wells combined with other on-line producing wells will provide a portion of the necessary cash flow to allow the company to high-grade further development efforts to add production and reserves. In addition, management is aggressively moving forward on its other projects, focusing on acquiring additional acreage and completing further test wells.

Vast Exploration Inc. ( has 25,000 acres of undeveloped land throughout Western Canada; an established joint venture with the aboriginal Paddle Prairie Settlement in Boyer, Alberta; an extensive farm-in with Devon in SW Saskatchewan; and two Coal Bed Methane (CBM) plays: one in central Alberta, the other in the Black Warrior Basin in Alabama. The company trades on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol VST.
