CORRECTION FROM SOURCE: WestJet Announces Exciting New Contest to Celebrate 10th Anniversary Kickoff to Year-Long Celebration

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 13, 2006) - In the release issued this morning at 8:30 am ET there was missing information. In the first paragraph of the release the first sentence should include the word "scheduled" before "flights." Also, in the fourth paragraph a second sentence has been added as follows, "Official rules and regulations will be available at westjet.com as of January 14, 2006." The complete and corrected release is as follows:

WestJet (TSX:WJA) today announced that it will run a month-long contest in February on all its scheduled flights operating out of Canada to celebrate its 10th anniversary of operation. Guests will be able to win one of thousands of prizes with 10 grand prizes including a 2006 Honda Pilot, a $10,000 WestJet travel credit as well as vacation packages for four to Disneyland, Las Vegas and Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts.

"Ten years is an important milestone for WestJet. From five cities with three aircraft in 1996 to 34 destinations with 51 Boeing Next Generation 737s, WestJet has come a long way," said Richard Bartrem, WestJet's Director, Brand and Communications. "Even more impressive is that in an industry rife with financial hardships, WestJet has thrived.

"To become and remain a profitable airline over 10 years is a significant achievement," said Bartrem.

Every flight during the month of February originating in Canada will have a prize available to be won. Official rules and regulations will be available at westjet.com as of January 14, 2006.

WestJet is Canada's leading low-fare airline offering scheduled service throughout its 34-city North American network. With increased legroom and leather seats on its modern fleet of Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft, and live seatback television provided by Bell ExpressVu on the majority of its fleet, WestJet strives to be the number one choice for travellers.
