It is the company's 17th location in Western Canada.

"Good Earth has cafes open throughout Alberta with a strategic road map to expand across all of Western Canada," says Michael Going, Good Earth's president and co-founder. ""We are extremely excited by the opening of our first BC location in Kelowna. The new cafe will allow us to serve our great coffee and great food to new customers as well as to visiting Albertans in the area. We have strong awareness in Alberta and our cafes are easy to operate," he adds.

"Our concept is very hot right now; we offer customers a combination of coffee, cold beverages and healthful and wholesome food in an environmentally and socially conscious environment," adds Michael. "Since Good Earth's founding seventeen years ago, we have worked hard to maintain the authentic coffeehouse environment for our customers. Our customers love it and we are looking forward to continuing to expand our reach across Western Canada."

"I think the Kelowna area is the perfect place to open a Good Earth Cafe," said Shelly Sapieha, the Franchise Operating Partner. "More and more people are familiar with the company, both local and visiting Albertans, and I know they will love the Good Earth concept and service we provide."

Good Earth will be opening three more cafes this year and anticipates adding 10 - 12 new cafes in 2009. Cafes range from 300 square foot kiosks to 2,200 square foot free-standing and drive-through cafes.
