CORRECTION: Working Families Asks Ontarians to Submit Their Ads for Election 2007

Working Families, an independent organization concerned with giving a voice to working women and men is giving Ontarians a chance to have their say in this election and share it with others online and on television. Patrick Dillon, spokesperson for the group announced that Working Families would hold an online contest to help select an ad for broadcast across Ontario during the provincial election. This will be the first time in Canada that a political ad created for the Internet will be chosen and aired on commercial television. "This is an important election and we want Ontarians to participate and the Internet is one of the best ways of doing that. We're calling our contest You Decide and letting Ontarians decide which ad they want to see," said Dillon.

The contest is open to Ontarians eighteen years and older and invites them to submit a 24 second broadcast quality ad on the theme of "You Decide". Ads must follow guidelines posted on the website www.workingfamilies.ca. Three ads will be selected and the public will be invited to vote on them. The winning ad will be placed in rotation with a value of up to $100,000 worth of commercial airtime.

"We believe that there are a lot of creative people in our province that can create a message that will resonate with Ontarians," said Dillon. "You Tube, Jump Cut and others have demonstrated the power of social networks on the Internet to effect political change. We want to harness that energy right here in Ontario."

Entries can be submitted at the workingfamilies.ca website until midnight September 21, 2007. Voting will take place from September 22, 2007 until midnight September 25, 2007 and the winning ad will be announced on September 26, 2007.
