The Correctional Service of Canada Announces Beginning of Nomination Period for the 18th Annual National Ron Wiebe Restorative Justice Award


OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 19, 2016) - Correctional Service Canada

The Correctional Service of Canada's Restorative Justice and Victim Services Division is pleased to announce that it is now accepting nominations for the 2016 National Ron Wiebe Restorative Justice Award.

Members of the public are invited to nominate Canadian individuals and/or groups who:

  • demonstrate, through their work, community service and/or lifestyle, innovative ways of transforming human relationships;
  • enable and promote communication and healing between people in conflict, whether they are victims, offenders, colleagues, family, or community members.

The award is open to all Canadians who model restorative justice principles in the service of justice and peace.

The deadline for submitting nominations is June 17, 2016.

The 18th Annual Ron Wiebe Award will be presented on November 21, 2016 during the National Restorative Justice Symposium Banquet in Halifax, Nova Scotia, as part of Restorative Justice Week 2016.
