Correctional Service of Canada: Death of Inmate at the Regional Psychiatric Centre in Saskatoon


SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - May 22, 2012) - On May 22, 2012, inmate William Harold Clarke from the Regional Psychiatric Centre died of natural causes following a lengthy illness in the institutional hospital in Saskatoon.

At the time of his death, Mr. Clarke, 66, was serving an indeterminate sentence for First Degree Murder. His sentence had commenced on April 17, 2009.

Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. In addition, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
