Correctional Service Canada: Death of Inmate at the Regional Psychiatric Centre


SASKATOON, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - March 7, 2013) - On March 6, 2013, inmate Charles David Garry Head from the Regional Psychiatric Centre died of natural causes following a lengthy illness in the institutional hospital in Saskatoon.

At the time of his death, Mr. Head, age 66, was serving an indeterminate sentence for Non-Capital Murder, Indecent Assault of a Female, Rape and Attempted Rape. His sentence had commenced on May 26, 1967.

Next of kin have been notified.

As in all cases where an individual dies while in custody, the police and coroner have been notified. In addition, the Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the incident.
