Correctional Service of Canada: Saskatchewan Penitentiary Celebrates 100 Years of Public Safety


PRINCE ALBERT, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - Sept. 21, 2011) - On September 21, 2011, the Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) proudly celebrated the 100th anniversary of Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert. The ceremony was attended by CSC Commissioner Don Head, Regional Deputy Commissioner Brenda LePage, and His Honour the Honourable Dr. Gordon Barnhart, Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan. Invited guests included local Members of Parliament, retired and current CSC personnel, former and current Citizen Advisory Committee members, partners, volunteers, stakeholders, and other members of the community.

CSC is the federal government agency responsible for administering sentences of a term of two years or more, as imposed by the courts.
