Correctional Service of Canada: Escape From Riverbend Institution


PRINCE ALBERT, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - Dec. 22, 2012) - On December 21, inmate Sheldon Durocher was discovered missing during the Riverbend Institution 8:30 p.m. count. The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) immediately contacted the Prince Albert Police Service and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Sheldon Durocher, 33 years old, is described as 185 cm (6' 1") in height, his weight is 122 Kg (270 lbs), he has brown eyes and brown hair. He is currently serving a 2 year, 26 day sentence for Assault - Use of Force, Break and Enter with Intent, Possession of a Schedule I/II Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking and Mischief In Relation to Other Property.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Sheldon Durocher is asked to contact police.

CSC and Riverbend Institution will be conducting a joint investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and are working with the Prince Albert Police Service and RCMP to locate this offender as quickly as possible.

CSC has given the police all available information to assist in the inmate's apprehension.
