Correctional Service of Canada: Inmate Escape From Willow Cree Healing Lodge


DUCK LAKE, SASKATCHEWAN--(Marketwire - Sept. 16, 2011) - At approximately, 12:00 a.m. on September 16, 2011, staff at the Willow Cree Healing Lodge discovered that Terrance BEAR was missing from the facility. A formal count and institutional search were completed. As the inmate could not be located, it was determined that inmate BEAR had escaped. Police were contacted and a warrant was issued.

Terrance BEAR is a 26 year old first time offender serving a sentence of 13 years, 1 month, and 14 days for Manslaughter (x2), Possession of Schedule I/II Substances for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Mischief in Relation to Other Property. His sentence commenced November 30. 2005.

Terrance BEAR is 170 cm (5' 7") tall and weighs 93 kg (206 lb). He has black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Mr. BEAR is asked to contact their local police department.

The Correctional Service of Canada will review the circumstances surrounding the escape and work with the police to locate the offender as soon as possible.

Willow Cree Healing Lodge is a federally operated minimum security institution currently accommodating 39 inmates.
