Correctional Service of Canada: Lockdown and Search at Bowden Institution

INNISFAIL, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - Dec. 16, 2011) - At approximately 11:45 a.m. on December 15, 2011, Bowden Institution, a medium security federal penitentiary was placed on lockdown in order to facilitate an exceptional search of the institution.

The institution will re-open as soon as the search is complete. Visits are suspended until the search has been completed.

The Correctional Service of Canada (CSC) works to ensure the continued safety and security to the public, staff and inmates.
