Corsearch Takes Top Honors in the World Trademark Review Survey's Trademark Watching Category

Survey Participants Comprised of In-House Counsel and Private Practitioners Reinforce Corsearch's Best-in-Class Status for Watching and Search

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Nov 3, 2011) - Corsearch, leading provider of the most innovative solutions to protect local and global brands and trademarks, today announced it has been ranked first in the watching category and second in the searching category by in-house counsel and private practitioners as part of World Trademark Review's annual Global Trademark Survey. Corsearch is part of Wolters Kluwer Corporate Legal Services.

In the World Trademark Review survey, participants were asked to rate service providers in four main sub-sectors, two of which applied to Corsearch: trademark watching and trademark searching. Participants were asked to identify and rate, on a scale of one to 10, the services they received across the sectors examined. Over 1,000 submissions were made.

  • Trademark Watching: Corsearch ranked #1 in this category, receiving a 7.6 score for the quality of data received, a 7.6 for the flexibility and usability of search results, a 7.3 for linguistic capability and a 7.7 for likelihood of recommending the service provider. Industry averages are 7, 6.8, 6.6 and 7 respectively.

  • Trademark Searching: Corsearch ranked #2 in this category, receiving a 7.6 score for the quality of data received, a 7.5 for the flexibility and usability of search results, a 7.1 for linguistic capability and a 7.5 for likelihood of recommending the service provider. Industry averages are 7.2, 7.1, 6.8 and 7.1 respectively.

The survey also revealed significant trends and issues facing the industry. Customer service and ongoing support was regarded as more important than the software and systems offered. "Corsearch has a dedicated customer service, and product support team whose core responsibility is to answer our clients' questions, provide guidance and support and make sure the experience they have with Corsearch meets and exceeds their expectations," said Josh Braunstein, General Manager, Corsearch. "Our staff goes through extensive customer service training and continuing trademark education."

Participant feedback also highlighted other needs, many of which Corsearch already addresses with its offerings. For example, cloud-based services and the future of paperless reports were topics repeatedly mentioned. Corsearch customers currently view 70 percent of their Comprehensive Search reports using the Advantage® web-based platform. With the web-based platform, all products can be reviewed using the platform which Corsearch recognizes can assist clients in improving their review time, reduce internal costs and eliminate the need for paper.

The World Trademark Review is the world's only independent multimedia publication dedicated exclusively to reporting on trademark issues for in-house and private practitioners internationally.
