Corso Italia BIA Presents the 2010 Cavalcade of Lights

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 19, 2010) - Come celebrate the 2010 annual Cavalcade of Lights with the Corso Italia BIA (Business Improvement Area) on Sunday, December 5, as we kick off the winter season with live entertainment and free hot refreshments.

Hosted by OMNI TV anchor Giorgio Mitolo, the festivities will begin at 4pm at the corner of St. Clair St W and Greenlaw Ave, near St Nicola di Bari Church, wherein all are welcomed as Saint Nicholas, with local carolers in tow, greets children and takes photographs.

During the entire weekend of December 3rd to 5th, Corso Italia is happy to present special holiday discounts and savings, including a 'We Pay the HST' at participating stores. Also, a traditional Italian Mercatino (sidewalk sale) will showcase products and services before decorated storefronts.

Corso Italia also encourages all to make a donation of a new, unwrapped toy to be distributed to needy children of Rosalie Hall. The BIA will also take part in the light exchange program in partnership with Toronto Hydro, allowing visitors to exchange a string of energy-saving LED lights for 2 strings of incandescent lights.

As for live entertainment, Corso Italia is proud to showcase the talents of local schools: Loretto College School, Stella Maris Separate School, Pope Paul School and St. Clare School, whose choirs have all worked hard to prepare for a memorable performance at this year's event. Also among the highlights of that evening: opera singer Sara Papini and Italian-folk accordionist Claudio Santaluce.

*National Bank, IC Savings, Tim Hortons, and Tre Mari Bakery are among this year's sponsors.
