Attention: Assignment Editor, City Editor, Media Editor, News Editor, World News Editor TORONTO, ONTARIO, MEDIA RELEASE--(Marketwire - April 9, 2009) - (TORONTO) - A prominent Canadian family has donated $125,000 towards relief efforts for the victims of the earthquake in Abruzzo, Italy. Mr. Nick Cortellucci, on behalf of the Cortellucci Family and the Cortel Group of Companies was on hand to present a cheque to La Federazione Associazioni e Club Abruzzesi Greater Toronto and The Grand Priory of Canada for the Knights Hospitallers of the Sovereign Order of St. John of Jerusalem Knights of Malta (Ecumenical Order).
"The images of devastation caused by the Earthquake and aftershocks from my country of birth are heart wrenching and deeply disturbing. It is the wish of my family that this contribution will help to provide hope to those affected, and will encourage all Canadians to join in the relief effort," stated Nick Cortellucci, President, Four Valleys Construction and Co-Founder of the Cortel Group of Companies.
Ms. Ivana Fracasso, President of La Federazione Associazioni e Club Abruzzesi Greater Toronto, was on hand to accept the donation on behalf of the participating organizations.

The compassion, citizenship and duty towards fellow human beings demonstrated by their decision to come forward are overwhelming and deeply appreciated by our community." stated Ms. Fracasso.

The Hon. Maurizio Bevilacqua, M.P., for Vaughan, and a native of the Province of L'Aquila was also on hand to lend his support.
The Grand Priory and the Federazione have established a Trust Fund for the benefit of the population affected by the 2009 Earthquake in Abruzzo.. As a reminder, all Canadians who would like to help can make a donation to:
