Costco Wholesale Corporation Reports June Sales Results


ISSAQUAH, WA--(Marketwire - July 12, 2007) - Costco Wholesale Corporation ("Costco") (NASDAQ: COST) today reported net sales of $6.35 billion for the month of June, the five weeks ended July 8, 2007, an increase of 10 percent from $5.78 billion in the same five-week period last year.

For the first forty-five weeks of its reporting period ended July 8, 2007, the Company reported net sales of $54.31 billion, an increase of 9 percent from $49.88 billion during the similar 45-week period of the prior year. The fiscal 2007 year-to-date net sales results include the $452 million adjustment to the sales returns reserve previously reported in the fiscal 2007 second and third quarter results. Excluding the adjustment, net sales for the 45-week year-to-date period were $54.76 billion, representing a 10% increase over the prior year.

Comparable sales for the five-week retail-reporting month of June and the 45-week retail-reporting period of September through June are as follows:
