Kenneth E. Barnes, Sr., MS is the Founder and CEO of ROOT, Inc. He is another American father who reared his family until one day violence touched him personally. A 17-year-old youth walked into his son's (Kenneth Barnes, Jr.) clothing store and senselessly ended his life with a handgun. For the past five years, Kenneth has advocated to lawmakers, community leaders and all who will listen, to institute his message of Guns Aside in American schools. ROOT is working to motivate and mobilize communities around a proactive approach to reducing homicides, and gun violence, not only locally, but in a national movement as well.
