CounterTack CEO Neal Creighton Appointed to Serve on Army Cyber Center Advisory Board

Army Cyber Center Committed to Protecting U.S. Army Networks From Advanced Cyber Attacks

WALTHAM, MA--(Marketwired - Feb 11, 2014) - CounterTack, a pioneer in delivering real-time endpoint threat detection, context and visibility around targeted attacks, today announced that CEO Neal Creighton has been appointed to the Advisory Board of the Army Cyber Center. Creighton will serve his four-year appointment through the United States Military Academy. The Army Cyber Center is a Secretary of the Army and Chief of Staff of the Army initiative to create a premier cyber warfare institution with a broad charter that incorporates all military services, industry and government partners for purposes of providing cyber security and cyber operations advice and consultation, research and education.

"As attacks increase in both volume and sophistication, legacy security technologies and organizations are often ill-equipped to adapt their capabilities to advanced and unseen threats," said Col. Gregory Conti, Director, U.S. Army Cyber Center. "Innovative technologies from visionary companies help the nation improve its cyber defense against foreign and state adversaries. With Neal's background as an entrepreneur in leading visionary technology initiatives, I'm thrilled Neal will make a valuable contribution as an Advisory Board Member."

The U.S. Army Cyber Center recognizes the need to leverage best of breed technologies and approaches from the private sector, government, academia and military to solve existing and future cybersecurity challenges related to government, critical infrastructure and civilian systems.

"It's an honor and privilege to be able to serve my country through this new role with the Army Cyber Center," said Creighton. "The cyber threat landscape is continuously and rapidly evolving, which means our approach to detecting the increasing number of new attacks must adapt in real-time and -- as CounterTack's pioneering work has proven -- must begin at the endpoint."

Creighton brings with him more than a decade of experience in IT system security, identity verification and Web authentication markets. He is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point and holds a J.D. and MBA from Northwestern University. Prior to joining CounterTack in 2011, Creighton was co-founder, president and CEO of GeoTrust. He led the spin-off of ChosenSecurity from GeoTrust, and was also co-founder and executive chairman of AffirmTrust LLC, and co-founder of RatePoint, Inc.
