NORTH CANTON, OH--(Marketwire - Sep 7, 2011) - Joining forces with other wedding service providers, the stylish Courtyard by Marriott, one of the premier Canton, Ohio wedding venues, was site for the August 12, 2011 Wish upon a Wedding ceremony uniting Liane Grimes and David Parker.
Wish upon a Wedding celebrates the courage, determination and spirit of couples in love during their most challenging times, most of who are faced with terminal illness or serious life-altering situations. Organized in January of 2010, there are 19 chapters across the United States working to assist couples, regardless of sexual orientation, to realize their dream wedding.
Liane and David have both been faced with serious medical conditions. Liane suffers from sarcoidosis, myasthenia gravis and vasculitis and David is a survivor of lymphoma cancer. It was Liane's wish to marry the man who has been her rock, standing beside her through her daily struggles. Due to high medical costs, a dream wedding was out of reach for the couple, until Liane applied to Wish upon a Wedding.
Working with wedding vendors, the Ohio Chapter of Wish upon a Wedding went to work pulling together the donations of photographers, bridal consultants, wedding planners, jewelers, florists, caterers and reception halls in Canton, Ohio, all for the sole purpose of making Liane and David's dream a reality.
Donating services and use of its impressive indoor and outdoor wedding venues to the Canton, Ohio couple, the fine attention to detail maintained by the Courtyard's staff of dedicated event managers and professional caterers was integral in helping the organization grant Liane and David's wish. Liane and David's wedding was the third wish to be granted by the Ohio chapter.
