Courtyard New Orleans French Quarter Hotel Now Open

Iberville Suites Transformed Into Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, LA--(Marketwire - Oct 9, 2012) - The Courtyard New Orleans Downtown/Iberville is thrilled to announce the completion of a multi-million dollar conversion. Located 1 block from Bourbon Street and Canal Street, this new hotel is a distinctive addition to the French Quarter New Orleans. The Courtyard New Orleans Downtown/Iberville has a sophisticated glamour inspired by the city's rich architectural heritage -- with a storied history of its own. The original building dates back to 1878 when it was erected as a premier department store as it thrived for decades. It was not until the late 1990s when the building was converted into two hotels -- The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans and Iberville Suites. While the beautiful Ritz-Carlton will remain, the Iberville Suites has completed the next step in its evolution to become a premier French Quarter hotel.

The new boutique hotel near Bourbon Street has a bold design aesthetic that mixes contemporary design with historic elements. The lobby acts as a central hub of the hotel, offering a wide range of functional areas for work or play. The traditional front desk is replaced with separate welcome pedestals to create more personal and private interactions when guests check in. Flexible seating options range from a communal table in the middle of the action, to media booths with high-definition televisions, to an intimate lounge area. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout and easy access to the latest news, weather and airport conditions are accessible via our GoBoard™ technology. Vieux Carre Café is open all day serving pastries, sandwiches, flatbreads and Starbucks® beverages. Quality beer, wine and cocktails are also available each evening.

The highlight of the hotel is the 230 guest rooms. Meticulous attention was paid to functional design with a rich palette and modern luxuries. The Courtyard offers 140 spacious suites featuring separate bedroom and living areas with a sleeper sofa, wet bar and mini refrigerator. Although the hotel sits in the middle of the excitement of the iconic French Quarter, the Courtyard will serve as a quiet oasis for guests looking for extended stay suites in New Orleans.
