Courtyard Toronto Northeast/Markham Named Exclusive Hotel Sponsor of the Monkey King Opera

Hotel Near Woodbine and Steeles Named Official Sponsor of Hong Kong Cultural Expo's Monkey King Opera, Arriving September 2016

MARKHAM, ON--(Marketwired - Aug 10, 2016) - Courtyard Marriott Toronto Northeast/Markham is honored to be named the Exclusive Hotel Sponsor of the Hong Kong Cultural Expo's Monkey King Opera. Based on the timeless novel, Journey to the West, the tale of the Monkey King will arrive at the Bluma Appel Theatre stage in Toronto's St. Lawrence Centre for the Arts on September 10, 2016 as part of the Hong Kong Cultural Expo, supported by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office.

"The Hotel is pleased to support The Monkey King, in the celebration of Toronto's Chinese community and its cultural heritage. We are thrilled to house the artistic group in our hotel and provide them a comfortable 'home' while in Toronto, as they spread the great message of The Monkey King and Chinese culture to all in Toronto. The hotel will be the home base for the group and will hold their other activities in our meeting and function rooms."

With Dr. Frederic Mao at the helm, the performers are presenting a modified version of the traditional Monkey King production, consisting of more action scenes, elaborately decorated costumes, and English speaking subtitles. Located immediately north east of Toronto, the Courtyard Toronto Northeast/Markham provides contemporary, well-appointed hotel rooms, creating the perfect home base in Markham for business and leisure travelers.

"We are thrilled to join other sponsors, including the various Chinese Canadian Business Associations around Metropolitan Toronto who are also supporters of the Courtyard Marriott Toronto Northeast/Markham. Together, we continue to work to increase our business relationships and support cultural causes in our community."

Guests staying at the hotel will find themselves close to the Ontario Science Centre, Toronto Zoo, or the nearby Pacific Mall. Travelers can also enjoy easy access to Woodbine, Steeles, Highway 401, 404 and 407 from the hotel's central, convenient setting.
