Covario's Fifth Annual INFLECTIONPoint Conference Attracts "Top Guns" of Search, Social Media and Digital Advertising

Global Marketing Leaders Coming to San Diego to Discuss Digital Marketing and Cross-Media Strategies

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - January 20, 2011) - Covario, Inc., one of the nation's largest independent providers of search marketing software solutions and agency services, today took the wraps off the program agenda and keynote lineup for INFLECTIONPoint 2011, the company's annual two-day customer conference that begins Wednesday, Feb. 2.

This year's event is themed around the "Top Guns" of search, social media and digital advertising in recognition of a select group of global marketing leaders, who are coming to San Diego to discuss key issues around improving the return on investment from their ad spending across digital and other media channels.

The fifth annual INFLECTIONPoint conference will feature high-level keynote speeches, timely panel discussions and interactive breakout sessions. It will also feature the presentation of the annual Covario "Sigma" Awards to recognize client companies that have been successful in driving excellence in marketing and analytics.

The opening day keynote will be by Sean Corcoran, senior analyst at Forrester Research, who will address "A New Set of Measurements for Media Success." Corcoran is an authority on digital advertising, social marketing, emerging media and the ad agency scene. He focuses on helping businesses develop digital marketing strategies for specific customer channels, including search marketing, social computing, mobile marketing and online advertising. Some of his recent published research covers planning and organizational issues around the emerging digital marketing concepts of earned, owned and paid media.

The day-two, Feb. 3, keynoter will be Nancy Bhagat, vice president of the sales and marketing group at the Intel Corporation. In a speech focused on "Cross-Media Optimization," she will address the goals of Intel's marketing programs and how the company will leverage resources like Covario's CMO Dashboard to drive optimal media strategies. Bhagat leads a team of strategic marketers who serve as advocates for Intel's customers. She is charged with creating effective go-to-market plans, communications strategies, media plans and messaging campaigns.

In addition to these keynote speakers, there will be panels and on-stage presentations featuring top marketers in attendance from IBM, Lenovo, Mattel, Wells Fargo, Sony Pictures Entertainment and The Washington Post, among others.

The panels will focus on such hot-button issues as building a scalable earned media strategy, budgeting for global search campaigns, and aligning media spend with results through attribution modeling. The panels will address marketing pressure points like measuring advertising return, monitoring its impact, organizing for both search and social media, budgeting for integrated paid and organic search programs, ascertaining the ROI of cross-media investments, and attributing value to the various online and offline media channels.

Making a return appearance to the conference will be Mark Mahaney, managing director and Internet analyst at Citi Investment Research & Analysis, who will provide an update on the Internet sector and discuss major trends facing global search marketers, in addition to offering his outlook for the economy and the financial markets.

Covario's executive team will also share the firm's latest software development roadmap. This will include the debut of an offline media tracking solution to complement the firm's extensive online software offerings, as well as a new system that automates the discovery of the high-value links advertisers can use to improve their search rankings. Plus, there will be an update to the patent-pending Covario Audit Score™ weighted system that will improve recommendations for better SEO (search engine optimization) rankings by as much as three-fold. The roadmap will also encompass a new "voice of the customer" predictive feature that allows marketers to identify the search terms consumers actually use when looking for product information or planning an online transaction.

Although Covario continues to be recognized as a leading provider of software and search marketing services for both SEO and paid search advertising, Russ Mann, the company's co-founder and chief executive, made it clear that INFLECTIONPoint 2011 will be about much more than search.

"Search programs cannot be conducted in a vacuum if they are to be operated at their most efficient level," Mann said. "Today's marketing leaders understand that last-click attribution generated by search no longer suffices as the final determinant in attributing value to media investments. It's critical to consider how changes in media channels affect one another, along with their relative impact on consumer behavior. Here at INFLECTIONPoint and in all our client interactions, the focus is on global portfolio optimization or the process of attributing value in an appropriate measure to optimize media investments."
