CoverageForAll.org Teams Up With NAHU to Help Uninsured Americans Find Health Coverage

SAN JOSE, CA--(Marketwire - Apr 20, 2011) - As part of a growing partnership, the Foundation for Health Coverage Education's (FHCE) Coverage For All campaign (www.CoverageForAll.org) is teaming up with the National Association for Health Underwriters (NAHU) to assist uninsured Americans with identifying their public and private health coverage options.

Every month, FHCE receives over 100,000 queries through its website and toll-free help line. After taking a basic 5-question eligibility quiz, consumers are presented with a personalized list of public and private health coverage options, the majority of whom qualify for public health coverage. NAHU represents licensed health insurance professionals who act as the premier educational and advocacy resource for American consumers. By partnering with NAHU, FHCE is able to offer those looking for assistance access to professionals who have the experience and training to help them find the best coverage options available.

"Brokers are experts in the health insurance industry. They not only know private health insurance options, but also the tax laws, discrimination laws, underwriting guidelines and the different distribution channels for care. We couldn't think of a more fitting resource for our CoverageForAll.org visitors and U.S. Uninsured Help Line callers who have questions about their private insurance options," said Phil Lebherz, Founder and Executive Director of FHCE. "The CoverageForAll.org campaign also provides brokers with a much-needed resource in this economic down-turn by giving them options to share with their clients beyond private plans."

"By joining the Volunteer Broker Network, NAHU members can better inform the uninsured Americans concerning their health care coverage options as we work towards creating more effective reform," says NAHU CEO Janet Trautwein. "This service allows those in need to access the resources that are already available to protect both their health and their financial well-being."
