CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - July 21, 2014) - The Calgary Parking Authority (CPA) Board of Directors has appointed Wes Hogman as the Interim General Manager of the organization to oversee its day-to-day operations.

"Wes has extensive experience within municipal parking management that he has gained over the past 18 years," said Board Chair Tariq S. Malik. "For the past decade he has gained an in-depth knowledge of the CPA, and we're confident he will be a great asset as Interim General Manager during this transition."

Mr. Hogman is currently the Manager of Business Development at the CPA and has played an instrumental role in the development and implementation of the ParkPlus System. He has an intimate knowledge of the operational aspects of the business, having overseen both the Operations and Technical Services departments in the past. In addition to Mr. Hogman's experiences at the CPA, he was formerly the Manager of Parking Services for the City of Auckland, in New Zealand, where he was responsible for the enforcement and operation of the city's parking.

The Board of Directors has started the recruitment process for the CPA's permanent General Manager.

Mr. Hogman will assume his new duties on August 1st.

About Us

The Calgary Parking Authority is a proud partner of The City of Calgary and is committed to managing publicly-owned on- and off-street parking facilities on The City's behalf. In addition, we manage the municipal parking enforcement program and provide parking advisory services.

Every dollar we collect that exceeds our operational costs is returned to The City of Calgary. Last year we returned more than $2M each month to the municipal general revenue program which funds projects such as recreation centres and pathways and provides funding for community services and public safety programs. The CPA operates without using any municipal tax revenues.
