CPA Ontario Confers FCPA, FCA Designations on 59 Accountants

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 18, 2013) - The Chartered Professional Accountants of Ontario has announced the election of 59 Ontario CPA, CAs as Fellows of the Institute, earning the designation FCPA, FCA. Fellowship elections are held every two years.

The highest designation the Institute confers, Fellowship is awarded for outstanding career achievements as well as outstanding service to the community and the profession. Ontario's CPA, CAs work in public practice, industry, academe, government and the not-for-profit sector. Less than 2.8 per cent of Ontario's over 36,500 Chartered Professional Accountants have been elected to Fellowship, making this an exceptional honour.

"Being elected an FCPA, FCA by their peers is an indication of the esteem these outstanding individuals enjoy in their profession and communities," said Rod Barr, FCPA, FCA, President and CEO of the Institute. "It is also testimony to how much each has contributed to both the profession of accounting and their respective communities."
