CPC Strategy Releases Q3 2010 Rankings of the Top 10 Comparison Shopping Engines in the U.S. Comparison Shopping Marketplace

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - October 14, 2010) -  CPC Strategy (www.cpcstrategy.com), the leader in comparison shopping engine (CSE) campaign management, today released its third quarter 2010 rankings of the U.S. comparison shopping marketplace.

Q3 2010 Comparison Shopping Rankings Results:

2. NexTag
3. Amazon Product Ads
4. Shopzilla

6. Bing Shopping
7. PriceGrabber
8. TheFind
9. Become

Three notable changes occurred within the shopping engine marketplace this quarter.

* TheFind cracked the top ten engines list for the first time debuting at number 8, displacing Smarter from the previous quarter's rankings.
* Amazon Product Ads moved up two spots as the third best overall shopping engine, taking over the top spot for highest revenue-driving engine.
* Bing Shopping has now completely switched from a CPA (cost per acquisition) model to a completely free one as of the end of July. Our rankings gathered data during both the pre and post transition period, since July represented a month of Q3.

"The considerable growth of new channels like Amazon Product ads and The Find has changed the complexion our top 10 rankings," said Rick Backus, co-founder of CPC Strategy. "Amazon Product Ads has seen a huge increase in revenue numbers over the past quarter, a nod to Amazon's continued dominance in the online retail market."

CPC Strategy began commissioning the research to provide eCommerce merchants with insight into the comparison shopping industry. The survey allows merchants to understand how each engine ranks in terms of size/volume, cost, return rates, and overall service. This quarter's rankings are the seventh the company has released since it began doing the research in January of 2009.
