CPC Strategy Releases Q4 2010 Rankings of the Top 10 Comparison Shopping Engines in the U.S. Comparison Shopping Marketplace

SAN DIEGO, CA--(Marketwire - January 19, 2011) - CPC Strategy LLC (www.cpcstrategy.com), a full service comparison shopping and data feed management agency, released its 2010 fourth quarter rankings of the U.S. comparison shopping engine marketplace.

The rankings help merchants prioritize their ad spend on the top 10 shopping engines.

Comparison Shopping websites like Microsoft's Bing Shopping, Google's Product Search, eBay's Shopping.com and Experian's Pricegrabber.com have become important tools used by online shoppers to compare product prices and merchant feedback from different online retailers.

What's New

  • The holiday cost per click rate increases by each engine proved to be a key differentiator in the rankings this quarter, with each engine utilizing a different strategy and approach for adjusting rate cards during the shopping season.
  • Bing Shopping's switch to a free model continues to pay dividends for advertisers as it secures the top spot in conversions at 2.6%.
  • Amazon Product Ads secures its spot within the top three for the second quarter in a row, a testament to the traffic volume (second) and lowest paid shopping engine in terms of COS % (Cost divided by Revenue Percentage).
