CPI Aerostructures Named a Finalist for Aviation Week Program Excellence Award

EDGEWOOD, NY--(Marketwired - Sep 28, 2015) - CPI Aerostructures, Inc. ("CPI Aero®") (NYSE MKT: CVU) today announced that it has been named a finalist for Penton's Aviation Week Program Excellence Award. CPI Aero was recognized for its Phenom 300 engine inlet program it performs for Embraer, the manufacturer of the Phenom 300 executive jet. According to a report by the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA), the Phenom 300 was the most delivered business jet in the world for the past two years. Embraer, S.A. headquartered in São José dos Campos, Brazil, is the world's largest manufacturer of aircraft up to 130 seats.

Developed in 2004, the Aviation Week Program Excellence Awards were created in response to repeated concerns about the complexity and difficulty associated with managing and leading the aerospace and defense programs that make up the industry's work.

Finalists for the 2015 Aviation Week Program Excellence Awards were selected by a panel of experts in program leadership and performance from industry, government and academia. Penton's Aviation Week panel of experts evaluated 72 original nominations and narrowed down the list to 23 finalists. For the 2015 Program Excellence Awards, all 23 finalists, across 7 categories, exemplified the best in creating value, adapting to complexity, team effectiveness and producing results. CPI Aero is one of three finalists in the Sub-System Production category.

Douglas McCrosson, President and CEO of CPI Aero commented, "The Aviation Week Program Excellence Award is one of our industry's most prestigious awards and we are honored to be named a finalist. We are especially proud to be just one of two small businesses and the only non-defense program to reach the finals. I'd like to commend Embraer's commitment to its supply chain partners and for creating the culture of cooperation and teamwork that placed CPI Aero in the best position to succeed on this assembly program."

Awards will be presented to finalists and winners on November 4, 2015 in Scottsdale, AZ, during the annual Aerospace/Defense Supply Chain Conference, jointly produced by the Aviation Week Network and SpeedNews.
