Cray Will Join With Sumisho Electronics to Market the Popular Cray XD1 Supercomputer in Japan

SEATTLE, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 30, 2005 -- Global supercomputing leader Cray Inc. (NASDAQ: CRAY) today announced that it is partnering with Sumisho Electronics Co., Ltd. (SSE), a leading Japanese provider of high-end computing solutions, to sell and support the Cray XD1™ supercomputer to businesses in Japan. The Cray XD1 system provides a powerful yet cost-effective high-performance computing (HPC) platform to engineering and scientific workgroups that run processing-intensive applications.

As a part of the agreement, SSE joins the Cray Channel Partner Program and becomes a Cray business partner within Japan. The Cray Channel Partner Program was established to bring the innovative Cray XD1 supercomputer to the global HPC market. Cray provides partners with expertise, services and support aimed at helping them deliver best-in-class HPC solutions to their customers.
