CRC SCARI Software Suite now Available from NordiaSoft

GATINEAU, QUÉBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 10, 2013) - NordiaSoft announced today that it has reached an agreement with the Communications Research Centre Canada (CRC) to further develop and advance the SCARI Software Suite, a solution used worldwide by radio manufacturers to create Software Defined Radios (SDRs).

Led by Steve Bernier, one of the world's foremost authorities on SDR, NordiaSoft can now offer customers around the world the first commercial off-the-shelf Software Communications Architecture (SCA) solution actually fielded and deployed to the battlefield. As CRC no longer offers SCARI as a product and has ceased to offer renewals of support and maintenance, NordiaSoft is offering the SCARI Software Suite along with support and maintenance services. NordiaSoft will also continue the cutting-edge research and development that has kept the users of SCARI ahead of the competition.

Joining NordiaSoft is the core team of experts from CRC who created the SCARI Software Suite. The team has a decade-long track record of pioneering new approaches to advance SCA technology, making major contributions to standards and commercializing the technology worldwide. Over the years, more than 500 engineers from 16 different countries have benefited from the mentoring and consulting services offered by the NordiaSoft experts.

Existing SCARI customers will be able to continue to receive product updates, support and maintenance by renewing their maintenance agreements with NordiaSoft. Customers can continue to expect no major changes for pricing and licencing terms from NordiaSoft. "This demonstrates our level of commitment and loyalty to the users of the SCARI technology." said Steve Bernier, CEO at NordiaSoft.

"The launch of NordiaSoft is an exciting development for the SDR market," said Joe Jacob, Vice President of Objective Interface Systems (OIS). "The NordiaSoft SCA tools' full support for ORBexpress provides our customers using SCARI tools with continuity of support and product expertise together with an easy bridge to new SCA developments."

Over the course of the next few months, NordiaSoft is planning to release a new and enhanced version of the SCARI Software Suite that will provide additional code generation features and modeling capabilities.

About the SCARI Software Suite

The SCARI Software Suite is a comprehensive Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for SCA-based SDR development. Used internationally by platform and radio manufacturers as well as application providers, SCARI reduces development risk and time-to-market, creating top-quality SDR products. The Software Suite includes:

SCARI Core Framework (CF): The battle-proven CF of choice for commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) platform providers and radio manufacturers, supporting the largest combination of operating systems, object request brokers, and processors

SCA Architect: The platform independent, Eclipse-based development environment that lets you create, validate, and debug your components and applications in a single project.

Component Development Libraries (CDL): Provides a set of generic functions that greatly simplifies code generation and reduces the number of lines of code a developer must write to create SCA components.

Radio Manager: A platform run-time monitoring tool to install and control applications, as well as visualizing deployment strategies.
