Creative Powerhouse, breensmith, Merges With Digital Agency, Chemistry

PITTSBURGH, PA and ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - August 15, 2016) - Digital agency Chemistry and creative hot shop breensmith have merged and will operate under the Chemistry flag. With offices in both Pittsburgh and Atlanta, the union is focused on providing clients with a fully integrated alternative to the holding company model. Effective immediately, breensmith co-founders Tim Smith and Chris Breen will serve as President and Chief Creative Officer of the Atlanta office. Both will report directly to Chemistry CEO Ned Show.

Chemistry provides creative and design, strategy and innovation, digital strategy and production, data and performance marketing PR as well as social. Their client roster includes a wide variety of companies including H&R Block, Marriott, Siemens, PNC, and The New York Philharmonic.

"We looked long and hard at finding the right fit for what we are building. The breensmith team has the creative juice and commitment to growing a modern agency. That's what we are looking to deliver -- world-class creative with the ability to deliver big digital that can scale to fit the ever-changing needs of our clients," said Show.

Founded by veteran creative leads Chris Breen (CP+B) and Tim Smith (BBDO NY, DDB Chicago), breensmith was recently named Advertising Age's 2016 Small Agency of the Year in the Southeast. In 2015, the shop was honored as the Best Small Agency in Social Media at the 2015 Shorty Awards. Its current client roster includes Kumho Tire, ZTE, and D4C Brands.

"Ultimately we felt Ned and Chemistry shared our vision for delivering creative in new and fearless ways. We wanted a partner with a hands-on approach to build a model that cuts out a lot of the bureaucracy that kills creativity and more importantly an agency's ability to keep up with its client's business," said Breen. Smith added, "What we are building is a nimble agency that delivers disruptive ideas and can scale handle the complex needs facing the modern consumer and the modern client."

Collectively, the new Chemistry offices are now 100 staffers with $100 million in billings.
