Credence Expands Training in Asia to Support Rapid Growth of Consumer ATE

Doubling Investment, Launching Direct Training on ASL Platform in Singapore

MILPITAS, CA--(Marketwire - March 12, 2008) - Credence Systems Corp. (NASDAQ: CMOS) is expanding its Singapore customer training offerings in response to high demand for its ASL tester, the leading global Automated Testing Equipment (ATE) platform for semiconductor components used in consumer electronics. In response to sharply rising demand throughout Asia, Credence is now offering Learn3 (Learn-Cubed) training directly to ASL customers from its facility in Singapore, increasing training personnel and the number of ASL courses offered.

"The steady rise in ASL deployments and increased demand in Asia made it clear that we should begin offering training to customers direct from our Singapore facility," said Amir Aghdaei, Senior VP of Marketing, at Credence Systems. "We're installing several additional ASL systems in the Training Center and launching new training classes starting in March."

The increased investment in training parallels rapid growth across Asia of Credence's mainstream consumer-focused semiconductor platforms, Diamond and ASL, and the company's focus on being closer to its customer base. With more than 3,000 systems deployed for cost-effective testing of linear, discrete and power management devices, ASL remains the most successful ATE platform worldwide as well as in Asia.

"ASL has a huge installed base in Asia and offering training directly allows us to work more closely with customers in the fastest-growing market for consumer semiconductors," says Credence CEO Lavi Lev. "This initiative will improve the quality of training available to customers and will provide us with valuable input on Credence's consumer semiconductor platforms not only as it relates to training, but also for evolving customer challenges and product requirements as well."

Registering for Training

The first ASL training courses on "visual ATE," MDI and Mixed Signal will begin in March 2008, together with online content to support increased learning. Courses on ASL test systems will be held every quarter. The expanded Singapore facility also offers training on Credence's Diamond and Sapphire ATE systems for mainstream and high-end consumer semiconductor applications.
