Crescent Electric Selects Epicor Wholesale Distribution ERP to Advance Its Business to the Next Level

Epicor Eclipse Solution to Power 9th-Largest Electrical Distributor in U.S.

DUBLIN, CA--(Marketwire - Dec 18, 2012) - Epicor Software Corporation, a global leader in business software solutions for manufacturing, distribution, retail and services organizations, today announced that Crescent Electric Supply Company of East Dubuque, Illinois, has selected the Epicor® Eclipse™ wholesale distribution enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution to increase business efficiency and streamline processes for overall performance.

With 120 locations in 26 states, 1,600 employees, and more than $900 million in annual revenues, Crescent Electric is one of the largest independent distributors of electrical hardware and supplies in the United States. Serving contractors, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), and the maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) needs of commercial, industrial, institutional and utility customers since 1919, the company is currently ranked #9 in Electrical Wholesaling magazine's "Top 200."

Crescent Electric has had a custom in-house developed ERP system since 1965. The Epicor solution will provide the company with a scalable business management system for 1,200 users initially. Epicor Eclipse is the premier operating system in the electrical distribution industry, as over 50 percent of Electrical Wholesaling's "Top 200" currently run the solution. Epicor will allow Crescent Electric to optimize operating efficiencies by:

  • Providing a Windows-based system that is extremely user-friendly and easy to learn and operate;
  • Providing enhanced features not currently available to Crescent Electric, such as job queues, signature capture, mobile proof of delivery and wireless warehouse management;
  • Reducing operating expenses with document management, online reporting and drill-downs, and minimizing postage for shipping documents to and from the general office;
  • Streamlining time-consuming processes such as customer billing, direct PO reconciliation, AP/PO reconciliation, A/R collections, inquiries and research; and
  • Improving access to real-time information so employees can make faster, more informed decisions.
