Crew Callout and Scheduling Expert ARCOS Hosts Ninth-Annual Conference for Utility Industry

COLUMBUS, OH--(Marketwire - Mar 1, 2012) - ARCOS, Inc., a provider of crew callout and resource management systems, will host America's electric, gas and power plant utilities at the Ohio software maker's ninth-annual conference at the Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club in Naples, Fla., from March 18 - 21, 2012. The conference kicks off with keynote sessions delivered by American Electric Power, CenterPoint Energy, Inc., NiSource and Southern California Edison.

AEP's keynote shows attendees how the utility has improved customer satisfaction and CAIDI by automating callout and scheduling. CenterPoint Energy plans to highlight how it streamlined the callout process to improve crew response. NiSource will speak about reducing gas leak response and improving safety. And Southern California Edison will present its business case for callout automation.

ARCOS(SM) and the utility industry have teamed up to present more than 24 sessions including: an overview of the ARCOS plans for crew management, GIS proximity-based callouts and ARCOS's current and upcoming capabilities for mobile devices. Other conference sessions cover labor relations, performance improvement, business intelligence applications and industry roundtables for gas utilities, power plants and electric utilities.

"Our conference has grown annually in terms of attendees and the scope of what's covered," said Mitch McLeod, chairman and founder of ARCOS. "Utilities say it's the 'must-attend' gathering for anyone who wants to perfect the way they manage emergency response. If you're looking to improve the transparency, accountability and results of your operations, the ARCOS Conference is the place to be."

ARCOS will also provide conference participants an opportunity to attend the ARCOS University, a series of how-to sessions offering, in part, best practices and case studies for getting the most out of ARCOS. The ARCOS Suite is cloud-based software, hosted by ARCOS, that quickly locates and assembles utility repair crews, while factoring in any labor agreements dictating the order of callout.
