SUNNYVALE, CA--(Marketwire - November 11, 2010) - Crocus Technology, a premier developer of Magnetic Random Access Memory (MRAM), today announced the appointment of Dr. Anthony J. Tether as advisor to the chairman and board of directors. Dr. Tether served for eight years as the director of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). DARPA is the principal agency within the United States Department of Defense (DOD) for research, development, and demonstration of concepts, devices, and systems that provide highly advanced new technology capabilities.
Dr. Tether was awarded both the National Intelligence Medal and the Department of Defense Civilian Meritorious Service Medal. He has served on the Army Science Board, the Defense Science Board, and the Office of National Drug Control Policy Research and Development Committee. Before his appointment at DARPA, Dr. Tether was founder, CEO and president of The Sequoia Group, which provided program management and strategy development services to government and industry. Prior to that, he served as CEO for Dynamics Technology Inc. and held management positions at Science Applications International Corp. (SAIC), Ford Aerospace, Loral, and Systems Control, Inc. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University.
In 2009, Dr. Tether re-formed The Sequoia Group and he is currently a Distinguished Fellow with the Council on Competitiveness located in Washington, D.C.
