Cross Lake Minerals Ltd. and Bard Ventures Ltd.: Drilling Commences on the Ingenika/Swannell Property

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - July 11, 2005) - Bard Ventures Ltd. ("Bard") (TSX VENTURE:CBS) and Cross Lake Minerals Ltd. ("Cross Lake") (TSX:CRN), (collectively referred to as the "Companies") are pleased to announce that diamond drilling has commenced on the Ingenika/Swannell zinc-lead-silver property located in north-central British Columbia (the "Property"). A program of approximately 1,200 metres of diamond drilling is being conducted to test at least six high priority targets outlined by the recently completed 3-D induced polarization ("IP") geophysical survey and geological mapping.

The Ingenika/Swannell Property hosts three areas of significant carbonate hosted zinc-lead-silver mineralization along a six kilometre strike length of prospective carbonate stratigraphy and are referred to as, from north to south, the Onward, Onward South and Swannell River showings. The IP survey covered a 1.5 kilometre by 3.2 kilometre area encompassing the northern showings and along strike of the prospective horizon south towards the Swannell showing.

At the north end of the mineralized trend, the claims surround the historic Ingenika Mine, where a deposit reported as 22,677 tonnes grading 119.9 g/t silver, 9.8% lead and 6.1% zinc has been identified (Minfile number:094C 002). The Onward Zone, located approximately 2 kilometres south of the mine is hosted in the same favourable carbonate unit. The Onward South Zone is located 400 metres south of the Onward Zone, and the Swannell River Zone is located a further 3 kilometres south where zinc-lead-silver mineralization was discovered in outcrop along the Swannell River. This zone of mineralization is also in the same carbonate unit as the Ingenika Mine and Onward Zones. Sampling during the 2002 exploration program returned high concentrations of zinc, lead and silver, including one sample that contained 25.62% Zn, 16.28% Pb and 1,202 g/t Ag. The mineralized showings responded with a high chargeability and high resistivity IP signature similar to that returned from an orientation IP survey conducted over the Ingenika Mine. The highest priority IP targets will be tested during the current drill program.

Results of the Ingenika/ Swannell and the recently completed Wasi drill programs will be provided when received.

A detailed summary of previous exploration results is included in the Companies' press releases dated September 13, 2004. Bard is funding exploration on the Property under the terms of an option agreement to earn a 50% interest in the Property with Cross Lake being the Operator of the program. SJ Geophysics performed the IP survey and F. Boisvenue Drilling is contracted to perform the diamond drilling. Exploration work is being conducted under the supervision of Qualified Person Jim Miller-Tait, P.Geo, Vice President, Exploration of Cross Lake.
