The CRTC's deregulation of local telephony - A favorable decision for consumers, according to Cogeco Cable

MONTREAL, April 7 - Cogeco Cable favorably welcomes the CRTC'S decision concerning deregulation of local telephony.

This decision establishes clear rules, which should ensure the establishment of a lasting competition for local exchange telephony services across Canada, in the interest of Canadian consumers.

The criteria comprised in this decision, such as geographical markets, the 25 % rule and the quality of services, will ensure the emergence of a more competitive and definitely client-oriented industry.
