Cryptzone Announces AppGate Satellite -- a New Secure Way of Extending Your Local Network

GOTHENBURG, SWEDEN--(Marketwire - June 17, 2010) - Cryptzone today announces a new concept within network access control: AppGate Satellites. AppGate Satellites provides a way to construct secure virtual networks on top of existing networks in a far simpler way than was possible before. An AppGate Satellite is a small appliance which, when placed on a remote network, acts as a virtual network interface of an AppGate server.

"The Satellites are ideal to use for outsourcing partners who needs secure access to their clients' networks, management of and communications to and from remote offices within a company, or as an extension for the internal network to a temporary external location. Operating an AppGate Satellite is very simple and all management is done through the AppGate Security Server. I'm very excited to be able to add this product to our offering of Access Control solutions," says Peter Davin, CEO Cryptzone Group.

"The addition of the AppGate Satellites decouples the security topology from the network topology, empowering our customers with almost endless possibilities of network design. Until now, AppGate has been focused on client to server communications but with this addition we open a whole range of new possibilities - including server to server communications," says Tomas Olovsson, CTO AppGate Business Unit.

Deploying a satellite is easy. The administrator of the controlling AppGate Security Server pre-configures the Satellite before sending it to the remote location. Once at the remote site, it only needs to be connected to power and the local network in order to start functioning. AppGate Satellite will start shipping beginning with the launch of AppGate Security Server 9.2.
