Crystal Rock Holdings, Inc. Notes the Passing of Phillip Davidowitz

WATERTOWN, CT--(Marketwire - Aug 16, 2011) - Crystal Rock Holdings, Inc. (NYSE Amex: CRVP) notes the recent passing of Phillip Davidowitz, our Board member with the longest service. Mr. Davidowitz became a director in June 1998 and served for many years on our Audit and Compensation Committees. He was president of TSC Clearing Services, Inc. from 1980 to 2001 and a member of the New York Stock Exchange and vice chairman of Transatlantic Securities Company from 1988 to 2001. He was 79 years old.

Mr. Davidowitz had served as an independent director on our Board since 1998, prior to Vermont Pure's merger with Crystal Rock. As a result, he possessed a strong grasp of the institutional history of our Company, the changes in our management and share ownership over the years, and our successful evolution from the retail and small bottle business to the Home & Office three- and five-gallon bottle business. With over 50 years of experience in the financial services industry, including as a member of the New York Stock Exchange, Mr. Davidowitz was well qualified to advise the Board on stock market and investor relations issues.

"We benefited greatly from Phil's perspective on our Board," said Peter Baker, CEO. "He spoke his mind and brought clarity to many discussions both during and outside Board meetings. He was a gracious man with a keen mind. He will be missed by the people at Crystal Rock and by everyone else who knew him."
