CSCMP San Francisco Roundtable Announces Scholarship Finalists

Winners to Be Announced May 11th at Inaugural Business & Scholars Gala

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - May 3, 2016) -   The CSCMP San Francisco Roundtable today announced 7 finalists for its expanded supply chain and logistics academic scholarship awards to be presented Wednesday evening, May 11, 2016 at the Inaugural Business & Scholars Gala Event at the Blackhawk Auto Museum in Danville, CA. Frank Sanders, Vice President, Corporate Strategic Procurement at Intel, will deliver the keynote address, "Why Supply Chain Management is THE Career of Choice for Now!"

The 2016 CSCMP-SFRT academic scholarship award finalists are:

  • Pouriya Bagheri, University of California at Berkeley
  • Shiman Ding, University of California at Berkeley
  • Henry L. Fuse IV, California State University, Fresno
  • Bhargavi Kapuganti, Golden Gate University
  • Aaron Prohofsky, University of California at Berkeley
  • Kunal Shalia, University of California at Berkeley
  • Hiromichi Yamamoto, University of California at Berkeley

CSCMP San Francisco Roundtable (SFRT) supports the education of future supply chain and logistics practitioners by offering academic awards to Bay Area undergraduate and graduate students working towards a degree in supply chain management or logistics.

Commenting on this year's competition, Petural 'PJ' Shelton, SFRT VP of Academic Collaboration, stated, "With the talent shortage facing our industry, CSCMP SF Roundtable is pleased to substantially increase this year's scholarship program. We are committed to developing industry's future leaders and excited to create this Forum to recognize the accomplishments of our finalists and celebrate with top Bay Area companies and professionals at our Inaugural Gala."

The 2016 CSCMP-SFRT academic scholarship awards being presented are:

  • MIQ Logistics Scholarship - awards $2,500 toward tuition and/or school fees and a 1-year student CSCMP membership.
  • CSCMP San Francisco Roundtable Scholarship - awards $2,500 toward tuition and/or school fees and a 1-year student CSCMP membership.
  • AGC Ambassador Award - awards transportation, lodging, meals and registration for the 2016 CSCMP Global Conference in Orlando, FL from September 25-28, 2016. The winner will represent the CSCMP SF RT among Ambassadors from CSCMP Roundtables from all over the world.

The Inaugural Gala will be held at the prestigious Blackhawk Auto Museum in Danville, CA, with registration opening at 5 pm, hors d'oeuvres, and networking at the 'Spirit of the Old West SOTO' Gallery in the famed museum best known for its classic car display, followed by dinner in the formal dining room with keynote address and awards presentation. For more information and to register, please go to www.cscmpsfrt.org
