CSCMP SFRT Donates $1,000 to American Red Cross for Hurricane Victims

SFRT Projects Even Larger Donation at SC Links! Event Scheduled for April '06 at Wente Vineyards

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 28, 2005 -- The San Francisco Roundtable of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) donated all profits from its October event to the American Red Cross for use in assisting hurricane Katrina and Rita victims. At the conclusion of the group's October Tour of UPS' Airport and Hub Operations, VP of Programs, Alan Davis and President Sergio Retamal, presented a check for $1,000 to Red Cross Volunteer, Town Council member, and former Danville, CA, Mayor Mike Shimansky. "We hope to give an even larger check for this worthy cause, from the profits anticipated from our half-day Seminar and Golf event next spring," said Retamal. "We will launch the first Annual Executive of the Year Award at that event and it promises to be very well received by CSCMP membership."

The Board of the SFRT of CSCMP calls for nominations for its 1st Annual SCM Executive of the Year Award by Monday, January 30, 2006, for consideration by a panel of SCM experts. Guidelines for nominations emphasize SCM innovation, leadership and 'fore'sight, as demonstrated by tangible results in the nominee's industry and/or field of expertise.

This month's educational (dinner) event sponsored by CSCMP SFRT, 'Supply Chain China Forum,' will be held at the Basque Cultural Center in South San Francisco on Wednesday, November 30th, and feature executives from SanDisk, US Bank and Meridian IQ. Register at www.cscmpsfrt.org.
