CSM Systems Inc: Virtual Customer Care Solution Gets Even Smarter

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - March 23, 2006) -

New self-diagnosis feature enables ViCCi to check and fix problems on her own.

Visionstate, a division of CSM Systems Inc. (TSX VENTURE:CKX), is pleased to announce the release of version 1.1 of its innovative virtual customer care software, known as ViCCi (pronounced, Vicky).

The recent release provides functionality that makes ViCCi even smarter and more reliable than ever. An acronym for virtual customer care interface, ViCCi uses cutting edge technologies to deliver a consistent, high level of customer care and wayfinding services in the retail and shopping centre environments.

It uses high definition plasma screens, LCD touch screens and 3D technology to help consumers locate products, services, and stores. At the heart of the system is an animated virtual assistant that responds verbally at a touch to give directions, provide store descriptions, supply product information and even offer gift ideas.

Since the initial launch of ViCCi 1.0 in November 2005, Visionstate has carefully monitored usage patterns and user feedback. In response, the ViCCi 1.1 release contains numerous refinements and improvements to the end-user experience, including a more responsive interface, and numerous small cues to make wayfinding easier than ever before.

Among the core advancements in the latest release is an internal monitoring system that ViCCi uses to self-diagnosis her performance and check for potential problems. Screen shots of ViCCi operating in various locations can then be accessed through a web interface, making remote monitoring and troubleshooting a simple task.

Also included in the new release is a faster, more powerful, and intuitive search function that enables shoppers to search for products, brands or store locations using natural language. Results are ordered by relevancy, and include concise store descriptions so users can find what they want efficiently and painlessly.

"Our goal with ViCCi has always been to leverage technology to make it easier for people to find what they are looking for - quickly and easily," said Visionstate CEO John Putters.

ViCCi 1.1 also comes an advanced reporting module that provides macro and micro level statistics on ViCCi's usage. The reporting tool provides invaluable data on key consumer indicators, such as what types of products and brands they are searching for and browsing, the top searched terms, stores, categories and more.

ViCCi is currently located in Southgate Shopping centre in Edmonton, Alberta. During a five-week period during the 2005 Christmas shopping season, over 130,000 queries were handled by ViCCi in two locations inside the shopping centre.
