CST Receives Trust License, Announces Name Change to CST Trust Company

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Sept. 4, 2013) - Canadian Stock Transfer Company Inc. (CST) announced today that it has received approval for CST Trust Company to commence business as a trust company from the Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI). Since its launch, CST has worked closely with OSFI to meet all requirements to obtain a federal trust license as part of a rigorous application process.

Mark C. Healy, Chairman of the CST Board of Directors, noted, "This is an important step for the growth and development of our company. The trust license solidifies our standing as a competitive, committed player within our industry and allows us to independently represent issuers across Canada. We are now uniquely positioned to offer issuers a proprietary and integrated suite of services, supported by the industry's best service team."

As part of the transition to a trust company, CST also announced the rebranding of the company to CST Trust Company, effective immediately. Laurel Savoy, CST's newly appointed President and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "The CST Trust Company name better reflects our ability to service clients across multiple product lines, while recognizing the higher standard of care required of a trust company. The new name acknowledges that stock transfer services, while core to our business, are just a starting point in our client relationships."

This announcement marks a period of growth and expansion for CST, during which it has introduced new services and formed client partnerships with Rogers Communications Inc., Choice Properties Real Estate Investment Trust and Quebecor Inc., among other notable companies.
