CTEMS Identifies That Business Stakeholders Often Have Varying Perceptions of the Financial Value of Their Telecom Management Programs

INDIANAPOLIS, IN--(Marketwire - Nov 29, 2011) - AOTMP today announced today that members of the Center for Telecom Environment Management Standards (CTEMS) have identified that business stakeholders have different perceptions on the financial value of telecom expense management (TEM) and wireless mobility management (WMM) programs. CTEMS, a collaborative group focused on advancing the fixed and mobile telecom management industry, regularly solicits feedback from its membership of multi-functional professionals from both enterprise and industry supplier organizations.

According to recent feedback from CTEMS members, telecom savings is the most commonly cited value proposition of TEM and WMM programs. Approximately 80 percent of CTEMS members cite invoice error identification as an activity that provides significant financial value.

Despite the perceived awareness of TEM and WMM program value, only 56 percent of enterprise executives see value in the percentage of telecom savings reports. In terms of reporting, a mere 44 percent of enterprises report having a telecom performance dashboard. Of the reports that are widely adopted, 74 percent of business unit owners identified that they find value in telecom spend by business unit reports.

"Telecom management impacts stakeholder groups throughout an organization, including IT, Finance, Operations, HR, and executive management," said CTEMS Founder and AOTMP CEO Tim Lybrook. "CTEMS has identified that there is a strong demand for more standardized and effective reporting methods that help realize financial value and savings throughout an organization."

CTEMS membership currently consists of more than 250 members, including enterprise professionals responsible for managing more than $3.7 billion in annual telecom spend. Leadership from carriers, vendors, consultants and technology suppliers working in the TEM and WMM supplier industry are also represented. The diverse group of buyers and sellers collaborate regularly to identify and resolve challenges in the industry.
