CubeSmart Plants More Than 20,000 Trees for Its Customers

In the First Two Years of Its "Plant a Tree" Initiative, CubeSmart Makes Positive Impact on the Environment

WAYNE, PA--(Marketwire - Apr 20, 2012) - In honor of Earth Day, April 22, 2012, CubeSmart(SM) (NYSE: CUBE), a national provider of self-storage solutions and related services, is proud to announce a significant milestone in its "Plant a Tree" initiative, launched in April 2010. By the end of the second quarter of 2012, CubeSmart will have planted more than 20,000 trees.

The decision to launch the Plant a Tree initiative came from CubeSmart's commitment to environmental responsibility. The CubeSmart Plant a Tree initiative works through the American Forests' Global ReLeaf program (www.americanforests.org). Customers can request that CubeSmart plant a tree on their behalf when they rent storage units by visiting www.CubeSmart.com or by calling the CubeSmart National Sales Center at 800-800-1717. For each mini storage Customer who makes this selection, CubeSmart makes a donation to American Forests to plant a native tree at no cost to the Customer.

"We are very excited about our continued involvement with American Forests and are pleased to be reaching this milestone in the Plant a Tree program," says Joel Keaton, the Vice President of Marketing at CubeSmart. "It has been a successful partnership from the start and gives us a great opportunity to join with our Customers in an effort to preserve our environment."
