Cubic Telecom Scales Global Production for Popular Roaming Product

MAXroam - Cubic's Universal SIM Product - Gains Momentum in Several Major Markets

Company Announces "Roaming Mad Competition" - Consumers Who Submit Stories Regarding High Roaming to Get EUR 5 Vouchers

CORK, IRELAND--(Marketwire - December 17, 2007) - Cubic Telecom announced today that it will accelerate production of its popular MAXroam product, a universal SIM card that enables global travellers to get competitive local roaming rates for both incoming and outgoing calls in more than 160 countries. Cubic's rapid success in bringing the product to market -- particularly in the US -- has also attracted a number of distribution partners which will be disclosed in the next few quarters.

"The MAXroam product -- the company's first -- has been a great success," said Sean O'Mahony, Cubic Telecom's Chief Commercial Officer. "Not only are direct sales from our Web site going up weekly, but we have also received numerous inquiries from distribution partners who have the reach to bring MAXroam to the global marketplace."

A "Flat World Solution" for a Growing Problem

The culmination of years of negotiations with carriers in many global markets, the MAXroam product is selling well among global travellers, particularly those from the US travelling to the EU, where roaming rates increasingly frustrate consumer and business travellers. Cubic is also seeing great interest from globally distributed businesses and organizations that are looking for ways to reduce their global roaming costs.

"Roaming is a problem for many people around the world, and it's not just consumers," said Pat Phelan, Cubic Telecom's CEO. "It's a particularly serious problem for businesses in our increasingly global world. We like to think of MAXroam as a flat-world solution for a growing problem."

In a related story today, Cubic announced a global competition for its growing consumer base. Consumers who send stories about high mobile phone roaming rates will automatically receive a EUR 5 voucher off a MAXroam SIM. Cubic will award ten EUR 50 vouchers to consumers with the highest monthly roaming bills. For full rules, please visit -- http://www.maxroam.com/Competition.

"Practically anyone who has travelled with a mobile phone has a story to tell," said O'Mahony. "It's time we publicize those stories, and rewards consumers for sharing them -- it will not only help us as a company, but help further educate the market on the problem we have set out to solve."
