Cult Encourages North America Employers and Employees to Take the Leap

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Feb. 23, 2016) - Cult Collective (cult.ca), with offices in Calgary, Alberta, Vancouver, B.C. and Atlanta, Georgia, is soliciting North American business owners, as well as their staff, to take February 29th off of work and dedicate Leap Day to helping make corporate cultures, citizens, and communities better.

"Our friends at Zappos came up with the idea of making Leap Day an official Holiday. We loved everything about that concept and decided to join them," says Chis Kneeland, President & CEO of Cult, "Every four years we get a bonus day at the end of February. A special 24-hour period that business leaders don't have comp sales to compete against and salaried employees aren't getting paid extra to work that extra day. So we think everyone should treat that day differently than every other day -- to improve our neighborhoods, our homes, our families, or just ourselves. We think it's time this day was an official North American holiday -- not a paid day off -- but a paid day on -- a mission of improvement."

Cult is encouraging everyone to spend Leap Day volunteering to help others, to renew their spirit, improve their lives, or spend quality time with people they care about. Chris continues, "Whether the government grants it as a holiday, or your boss agrees to give you a paid leave of absence, or if you simply take a personal day -- we hope you'll join us in making this vision a reality."

Cult encourages all North Americans to sign a Change.org petition (created by Zappos and available at www.WillYouTakeTheLeap.com) to motivate the American and Canadian governments turn Leap Day into a Statutory holiday.
