CUPE reaches tentative agreement with the Municipality of West Nipissing

NORTH BAY, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 25, 2016) - The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Locals 535-01 and 535-02 have reached a tentative agreement with the Municipality of West Nipissing. The union represents 80 inside and outside workers, including water and sewage plant operators, garbage collectors, plough and backhoe operators, administrative workers, clerks, and many more.

The union's bargaining team will recommend ratification of the deal. Details will not be released until they have been reviewed and voted on by members. The union has scheduled a vote for May 2, and the Municipality will vote at town council on May 3.
