Curlew Lake Has Made a Substantial Seismic Acquisition Which Will Be Used to Define Several Targets on Prospects Brought to the Company

LANGLEY, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - March 23, 2010) - Curlew Lake Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:CWQ) (PINK SHEETS:CWLXF) has established a presence in Calgary with the engagement of technical staff and has commenced land acquisitions in two central Alberta oil plays.

Consideration of strategic alternatives has resulted in the Company's acquiring lands in close-to-services prospects that lend themselves to multi-zone reservoirs, some of which have horizontal drilling potential.

Curlew Lake has made a substantial seismic acquisition in the past two months in order to define several targets on prospects brought to the Company. Prospects have been developed that contain recompletion and infill drill locations as well as at least one high-impact exploration well in central Alberta. Reinterpretation of structural plays that are known in Alberta and attempting up-hole completions reduce drilling exploration risk.

The Company acquired an interest in twenty sections of exploration leases at Steen River. Other companies have achieved production of oil and natural gas on the rim structure of the Steen River astrobleme. The technical team at Curlew Lake felt that more information is required about this meteorite impact structure to recommend a drill location this winter. Curlew Lake will be investing time and resources over the next year to determine which styles of hydrocarbon trap in the rim, basin, central uplift and outer up thrust sediments best suit the Company's exploration risk tolerance. This kind of higher risk – potential higher reward prospect will await further data gathering and interpretation before Curlew Lake moves ahead with drilling at Steen River.

The Company will undertake to interpret other meteorite impact related structures in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin by utilizing further the scientific knowledge of such trapping mechanisms. Refinement of geophysical data and identifying various geomorphological processes will help to interpret reservoir formation development within and around astroblemes and in the associated hydrocarbon traps often created in overlying sediments.

Curlew Lake is considering a number of financing alternatives in order to follow through with exploitation on the Company's newly acquired land positions and will take maximum advantage of the opportunities that these present.

Following drilling and completion of the first proposed wells, the company will assess potential cash flows that may be established from exploitation of reservoirs to pursue the highest priority properties. Management will set strategic objectives for further exploration and development.

Curlew Lake is in the process of establishing closer ties to other explorers in Alberta and will take on further responsibilities by operating its own projects wherever possible.

Management feels confident that the efforts of the new technical team in Calgary, as they complete the land acquisition phase of operations and risk assessment, will bring value to the company and its shareholders this year.
