Curtain Call for Canadian University Press Campaign

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - Apr 8, 2014) - Come support a Canadian institution that provides opportunities and support to aspiring journalists from coast to coast while seeing your esteemed colleagues rock out.

Canadian University Press is a unique institution founded in 1938.

Since Feb. 28, a fundraising campaign to help see the organization through financial hardship has been running.

This fundraising finale marks the end of the campaign and celebrates the support and generosity of all who donated and serves as the last chance to contribute to the campaign.

The musical line up will feature The Snipes, a band formed in The Globe and Mail's business section. The Snipes' raison d'être is to pursue their first loves: drinking beer and loud, original guitar rock (but beer). Aron Yeomanson sings and plays guitar, Steve Ladurantaye is on guitar, Eric Atkins plays drums, and Vince Tourangeau is the guest bassist, the 10th person to have held that spot in three years.

Chris Berube, reporter at CBC Radio One and producer of The Walrus Magazine's podcast, will host the evening, which will feature a live auction with a journalistic bent.

This is an event you don't want to miss.
